Professional Bull Riders (PBR) headquartered in Pueblo, Colorado has over 800 bull rider members from around the world, including Australia, Brazil, Canada, Mexico and the United States. The members compete in events like Unleash The Beast, Pendleton Whiskey Velocity Tour, and since June 2022, the PBR Camping World Team Series.
PBR hosted their 9th of 12 regular season events for the Camping World Team Series at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California September 13th to 15th, 2024. The following ten teams compete in the league: Carolina Cowboys, Kansas City Outlaws, Florida Freedom, Texas Rattlers, Austin Gamblers, Missouri Thunder, Nashville Stampede, Oklahoma Wildcatters, New York Mavericks, and Arizona Ridge Riders. These teams compete in 5-on-5 bull riding events that culminate in a championship at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on October 18th to 20th, 2024.
During each day of the events, a given team will play one game against another team, with the aggregate score determining a win, loss, or tie. Wins and losses at the end of the 12-event regular season determine the playoff seeding going into the PBR Teams Championship. Bull riders competing in the 5-on-5 matches can only earn points in qualified rides. A qualified ride is earned when a rider rides the bull for 8 seconds. The ride ends when the rider’s hand comes off the rope, he touches the ground, or the rider’s free hand touches the bull. A successful ride earns the rider from 0 to 100 points based on scoring from four judges.
We focus our coverage on the 28-year-old Mexican-American Andrew Alvidrez. He captains the Missouri Thunder (9-12 record) that defeated the Austin Gamblers (10-11 record) by a score of 266 to 168. Andrew Alvidrez helped his team earn a victory with his score of 87.75 riding the bull Cut Bait. The Missouri Thunder’s Casey Roberts, 2022 National College Champion, assisted in his team’s victory with a 89.5 scored riding Vindicated. Avlidrez’s team is in 7th of 10 places with a 2024 score of 2,877.75
